Signing-on day and AGM

13th June, 2:30 pm, St John’s Church Hall, Cooper Lane.
Register your child for the new season and have your say at the Annual
General Meeting. Please contact the Club Chair, Sandra Jacques,
with any items you wish to raise, by the 6th June.
There will be a sports shoe sale at the AGM. Please donate any unwanted
football boots or sports shoes then come and see if you can get a
bargain in the next size up!

Under 11 Jets win
Huddersfield League

 Well
done
to the Under 11 Jets - league winners in their first season
as an 11-a-side team!
With
two or three games left for most sides, the Jets cannot be caught and
will be crowned kings of the Huddersfield League second division. It is
also their first season in a new district league after four successful
years in the Keybury brought two division titles and an overall league
title.
Having wrapped up an 8-2 win over Howden Clough, the lads
had to wait and watch for the results of other games. But now
they can plan the celebrations before thinking about next year -
already a close game against one of the top sides shows it could be
another great one! |

Westwood achieves FA
Charter Status

We're tremendously proud to announce that
Westwood is now a Charter
Standard club! It recognises our commitment to both the players and the
game. It acknowledges that the organisation and coaching are good but
also provides a framework for us to continue to improve.
It's an important step for the club to take.
It's also one that leagues
aree starting to insist on, but that doesn't mean its a routine job as
the FA takes an exacting look at all aspects of the club including
welfare, respect, safety, coaching, opportunity, refereeing, equality,
finances and administration. In turn, we'll be entitled to a great
support package from the FA (and even a bit of cash) that will help us
make Westwood even better.
