Match report
Westwood Jets 5 - 1 Wilsden A
Sunday 6th December 2009
The
Jets made a bright start against a strong Wilsden side and took the
lead inside six minutes with Ryan Tucker's low left foot strike that
settled in the bottom corner. Ellis Wade came close to making it two
but saw his shot go wide of the advancing Wilsden keeper. But the Jets
did not have long to wait, a bullet header from Tyler Rhodes making the
score 2-0 at half time.
The boys came out in the second half
with one thing on their minds - to score another to put the match
beyond Wilsden. Meanwhile, Declan Wilkinson worked hard in defence with
Kyle Fletcher to keep the visitors at bay. Then Declan made a great run
from midfield beating several Wilsden players then unleashing a thunder
bolt shot to beat an impressive Wilsden keeper to make the score
3-0. Matty Malloy again put in an outstanding performance in midfield
alongside James Larvin and Ellis Wade. Wilsden started to come back
into the game and got a goal back from a well taken corner. This gave
them hope and they started to push on. James Topham was not to be
outdone by the great saves from the Wilsden Keeper and made several
close range saves of his own to keep the score at 3-1. Declan Wilkinson
started to push the team up and played a great ball through to James
Larvin who scored at close range. Tyler Rhodes and Ellis wade were
working hard on the left flank but it was Ryan Tucker who got the fifth
goal to make the final score 5-1.
Man of the Match was Tyler Rhodes who again gave 100 per cent and still had the imprint of the ball on his head from his goal.
