Silsden A 1 - 6 Westwood Jets
Sunday 11th November 2007
A commanding first-half performance saw the Jets 5-0 up at the whistle against a Silsden side with impressive early-season form. A trademark throw-in from Joe Allan to the heart of the penalty area found Ross Banks for the first goal. Jake Dawson gave his marker the slip shortly after to convert a corner. Adam Perry curled a left-foot shot in from what seemed an impossible angle. Lewis Goldsborough’s bulldozing run beat several opposition players and finally the diving keeper. A team move delivered the ball for Ross Kelly to slot the shot home.
Silsden rallied after the break a pulled a goal
back. But the Jets restored their advantage when Adam sprinted onto a
superb
through ball from Lewis, outran the defenders and struck a glancing
blow into
the net. It was a great game for anybody to watch, with exciting
attacking
built on a solid defensive foundation. Well done to all the lads,
especially
man of the match Ross Kelly.
