Match report

Westwood Jets 5 - 1 Long Lee Vipers
Sunday 7th October 2007

The Jets deservedly went top of the table with this fine showing. At times the football would not disgrace an older team and so it proved for a good part of this match.

They tore into Long Lee from the off and were rewarded with two quick goals. Lewis Goldsborough volleyed a well-placed free kick from Finley Richardson for the first. Adam Perry tucked in a rebound from a tight angle after some good exchanges with Jake Dawson. Long Lee pulled one back with a strong run up the left. Adam then worked hard to keep the ball in play and deliver a cross for Ross Banks to snap in. This woke the game up and the Jets went into the break  at 4 -1 after Jake Dawson poached another.

They worked the ball well throughout the second half, coming close a number of times. Lewis grabbed the only goal of the half - he was man of the match but, in truth, the trophy could have gone to any of the lads.
