Match report
Long Lee Vipers 0 - 2 Westwood Jets
Sunday 27th January 2008
After an enforced lay-off, the Jets bounced back with this deserved 2-0
win. Kieran Walton playing as an out-and-out striker gave the Jets an
extra option and, when Adam Perry charged through Long Lee up the
right, Kieran was well-placed to convert the pass to the opening goal.
Adam and the other midfielders - Jake Dawson, Lewis Goldsborough and
Ross Kelly - worked hard to provide service, also getting forward into
scoring positions themselves. Finley Richardson and Joe Allen were so
strong in defence that, despite Long Lee's best efforts, Jacob Ashbrook
had little to do in goal, although he was capable when called upon. The
Jets had their chances at the other end. Adam Perry brought a goalmouth
scramble to a decisive end for the second goal. Ross Kelly exemplified
the effort and was man of the match.
