Match report
Horsforth Stallions 3 - 5 Westwood Jets
Sunday 25th October 2009
The
Jets decided to play uphill in the first half with the wind against
them. The boys all were working hard with Mathew Malloy controlling the
midfield but it was Tyler Rhodes who broke the dead lock scoring a fine
goal from a great pass from James Larvin. Ryan Tucker and Declan
Wilkinson kept things tight at the back, Ryan slotted a through ball to
James Larvin who finished in great style to take the Jets in at half
time 2-0 up.
The boys started the second half strongly and it
wasn't long before James got his second of the game then Mathew
Rowntree joined him on the score sheet. Ellis Wade and Andrew Hawley
were working tirelessly in midfield and came close on several
occasions but could not find the net. Tyler Rhodes was not to be
outdone and scored his second of the match to make it 5-0. With ten
minutes to go the boys decided to adopt a more cavalier attitude and
were punished at the back with only one person defending and Horsforth
pulled three goals back. Man of the Match was Matty Malloy who
controlled the midfield from start to finish.
