Match report

Burley Hawks 0 - 7 Westwood Jets
Sunday 24th February 2008

The Jets started quickly and were soon one up when Adam Perry collected a Burley clearance and returned it to the goal from the edge of the area. Adam turned provider for the second, cutting a cross back from the goal line to a well-positioned Kieran Walton for a tap in. A move through the centre led to Kieran's second, just before half time.

The Jets continued to dominate after the break. Passing was slick and intuitive. Tackling was strong. Defenders were alert. Every player showed skill, hard work and confidence. Corners were met with headers, although the fourth goal, from a corner, was scrambled in by Ross Kelly. Ross then neatly played Adam in to wrong-foot the keeper. As the weather worsened, the Jets did not let their concentration slip. Adam shot from a tight angle to complete his hat-trick in a man-of-the-match-winning performance. The Jets still weren't finished and Ross Kelly added a final goal. It was a fantastic team effort, great to watch and the lads can be proud of themselves.
