Match report
Westwood Jets 7 - 0 Bingley A
Wednesday 9th April 2008
The Jets played catch-up with this midweek game, rescheduled from
before Christmas, but were always on the front foot. Adam Perry made an
early start with a hard hit from the edge of the area. Lewis
Goldsborough doubled the lead then Finley Richardson struck a fine free
kick that appeared to draw a decisive save until Ross Kelly bundled it
in. Ross also got the last Westwood touch for the fourth that
slam-dunked off the crossbar and over the line. The fifth goal, from
Jake Dawson, was a fitting reward for his efforts up front. Jacob
Ashbrook then confidently threw the ball out to Lewis who took it up
the right. Jake was strong to ensure it got to Adam Perry, now
operating on the left, to score - a lovely move. Adam finished the game
as it started, with a goal from a short run. Joe Allan once again
forged a great partnership with Finley and Jacob in defence.
Lewis worked hard to track back and help out but also showed skill
to take on opposition players again and again. He was man of the match.
