Bingley A 0 - 12 Westwood Jets
Sunday 16th September 2007
The Jets enjoyed a run in the sun and treated us to a display of fast, fluent football. The first was a lob from distance by Lewis Goldsborough. Lewis got forward again and was well placed to tuck away a great cross from Jake Dawson. Adam Perry fired a connonball shot from the right touchline to the top left corner of the net after working the ball with Ross Banks. Ross was up for another good cross from Jake on the left and a repeat of the second goal. Lewis got his third before the break.
Finley Richardson went up for a corner to score the first of the second half. Adam Perry had a left-foot shot from closer range this time. Birthday-boy Jacob Ashbrook was unflappable at the very back. Joe Allan moved forward and was rewarded with a hat-trick; Ross Banks also completed his. The Jets worked the ball upfield with quick thinking and passing, good positioning and control time and again. Jake Dawson exemplified the approach and was man of the match.
