A good game from two committed teams would have pleased the neutral supporters present! Gomersal took the lead after a strong run down the left ended with a well-placed centre and in. The Jets didn't let this affect them and a sustained spell of skill and pressure paid off. Adam Perry met a goalkeeper's clearance with an enormous header that fell for Ethan Labad who made no mistake. Ethan found himself sandwiched shortly afterwards and Finley Richardson emphatically converted the free kick. Both sides worked hard in the second half but good defensive cover, especially from Joe Allan and Lewis Goldsborough, and great work by both keepers - what a catch, Jacob! - kept the score at 2 -1.
Jake Dawson dealt well with Gomersal's threat on the right and contributed to Westwood's attack with strength and vision. He was man of the match.
