This
was a big match for the boys and heavy rain and muddy conditions were
not going to stop them from playing a quality Thackley team. They
battled hard the first half with Ryan Abbasi coming close to scoring
but it was Thackley who took the initiative with a powerful strike
netting them a first half lead.
The midpoint teamtalk helped
rally the boys and they managed to create chance after chance before a
deliberate handball by a Thackley defender gave them a penalty
which Jordan Botwood powered confidently into the top left corner
giving the keeper no chance. The Dolphins continued to pile on the
presure with Callum Warne Cleave millimetres away from scoring a
winner. Defenders Wasif, Myles and Sam were rock solid as ever
and Lukes Stoyles was man of the match for putting in a fantastic
series of runs down the wings.
