Thackley Lightning 0 - 2 Westwood Dolphins
Sunday 15th March 2009
.The Dolphins emerged worthy winners after their skillful
performance, accurate passing and great strength on the ball made the
difference.
Luke Stoyles and Kyle Fletcher worked together to
keep Thackley at bay. James Topham was at his best, turning defence
into attack and pulling off a great save to prevent a certain goal.
There was much more snap in the dolphins midfield today with Ryan
Abbasi on great form. The Dolphins took a well-deserved lead just
before half time with hit man James Larvin finding the back of the net
again.
In the second half the boys never let up, with Jordan
Botwood and Jack Crowe always providing a outlet on the wings. Callum
Warne-Cleave showed some great touches and was always looking to strike
the ball, but it was James Larvin who got the Dolphins’ second goal of
the match to keep their unbeaten run going.
This was by far one
of their best performances so far this season - it is clear that they
are starting to put into practice what they are learning from training
- and it was very difficult to pick a man of the match so, in the end,
it was awarded to the whole team.
