Bolton Woods Crusaders 1 - 4 Westwood Dolphins
Sunday 25th March 2007
By no means a 'second' team, Bolton Woods won both games last season; this year the Dolphins returned the compliment. Woods made a good start but conceded twice in the first half. The first came as Kieran Walton pounced on a loose ball to deliver the decisive shot. An instinctive striker, Kieran was there again as a tricky corner ball evaded the defenders. A great goal from Callum Armitage after the break made it 3-0 then Bolton Woods pulled one back. Strong defending from Daniel Smith, Patrick Henry and Ben Craig in goal prevented them scoring any more while hard work from Josh Harding, Ross Banks and Elliott Gelder and good skill from Jacob Trueman created danger at the other end. The ball fell to Jacob who slammed it against the crossbar. Kieran got the rebound and aimed a perfect shot into the right corner, earning him his hat-trick and man of the match.
