Match report
Westwood Jets 7 - 0 Stanningley A
Sunday 26th October 2008
A heavy, muddy pitch made the game difficult to play but the boys still
won handsomely with a very hard-working performance. A goal on 12
minutes seemed to relax the players and the soon got another, Oliver
finishing with a simple tap in. The team were now playing as well as
they could in the tricky conditions. Luke Stoyles, in what was his
debut match for the Jets, was next to score with an excellent finish.
They went in 4-0 at half time with Oliver getting his second just
before the whistle.
It didn’t take long for the goals to start flowing in the second
half with a power strike followed by a penalty after some good work
again from the team and it was Declan Wilkinson that stood up calmly to
slot the ball pass their keeper. Oliver was rewarded with a hat-trick
just four minutes from time. Another excellent team performance
with everyone playing very well, the man of the match went to Ellis
Wade with an outstanding game after covering every blade of grass on
the pitch.
