Match report
Horsforth Stallions 3 - 3 Westwood Jets
Sunday 14th September 2008
The Jets started brightly with a number of early chances, and it was
ever-reliable captain Josh Silson who broke the deadlock on six minutes
with a fine goal. But within one minute the home team was level from a
disputed penalty and they went on, one minute later, to score a second
to go in with a half-time lead. To make matters worse, Josh Silson and
Ellis Wade both picked up injuries, which resulted in Josh missing the
rest of the game.
The home team started the second half in confident style, quickly winning a
corner which was well cleared by the Jets. Four minutes later they hit
the bar but soon went 3-1 up with some good possession. The
Jets' fightback started with 10 minutes to go with a well-worked goal
from man of the match Tyler Rhodes. Then, with only five minutes left,
the Jets earned a free kick just outside the area which was taken well
to level the score. Westwood pushed hard for the winner but in the end
a 3-3 draw was probably the right result in difficult circumstances.
