Match report
Westwood Jets 4 - 0 Guiseley White
Sunday 8th March 2009
The
game started brightly with a number of chances for the Jets but they
were just unable to find the target. It took until the 11th minute for
the first goal with a wonderful, precise free kick from Ollie
Kirk-Patrick from just outside the box. There were also chances
for Tyler Rhodes and Ellis Wade but the Jets were unable to add to the
total. Guiseley also played some good football but, in turn, they were
unable to get past the Jets' defence with a good performance from the
captain of the day Declan Wilkinson and the Declan Kay in goal, whose
confidence grows with every game.
The second half was a tense
affair with the weather conditions not helping but the team still
played some lovely football. All nerves were settled when joint man of
the match Matty Malloy went through on goal to double the lead
following some lovely work down the wings. This opened the game up and
it ended in style with two well-taken goals from Josh Silson with
another of his hard working performances.
The whole team yet
again deserve a pat on the back a hard fought win in terrible
conditions. Matty Malloy and Declan Kay shared the man of the match
after both giving excellent performances.
