Shipley Tigers 3 - 2 Westwood Dolphins
Sunday 22nd March 2009
It was unlucky 13 for the Dolphins who had their first defeat of the season.
The
boys played well but Shipley took advantage of the conditions, the
Dolphins quickly going 1-0 down. It wasn't long before Ryan Abbasi put
the boys back in the game with a well controlled ball in the box he
then fired home. But circumstances intervened and Shipley nipped in to
score again just before the break as the Dolphins stopped playing,
believing the ball had gone out for a corner.
The incident
seemed to unsettle the boys and they soon found themselves 3-1 down.
But they bounced back, eventually taking control of the game for the
last ten minutes and James Larvin’s thunder-bolt of a free kick
unnerved the home side. But the equalizer just wouldn’t come and now
the boys face a test - what they can learn from this and put it in to
practice for their next game?
