Match report
Oakworth Stingers 0 - 5 Westwood Dolphins
Sunday 28th September 2008
The Dolphins welcomed the return of Jordon Botwood after months on the
sidelines with a broken leg - it was great to see him back in action!
The Dolphins took control from the off and after just two minutes Ryan
Abbasi passed to Callum Warne-Cleave who struck towards goal; Ryan had
carried on running into the area and touched the ball past the keeper
to make it 1-0. Callum was working hard in midfield and after 10
minutes it paid off when he shot from 20 yds and the Dolphins found
themselves 2-0 up. James Larvin got the ball just over the half way
line and unleashed a thundering shot that gave the Dolphins a 3-0 lead.
With a minute to half time the Dolphins got a free kick just outside
the area and Callum stepped up and got his second goal to make it 4-0
at halftime.
The Dolphins changed things around at halftime and brought on Dylan
Harrison and Jordon Botwood, and while they kept the pressure up they
just could not seem to find the back of the net. But after 30 minutes
Luke Stoyles past the ball to Ryan who found Callum with a great pass,
Callum hit the ball with his favoured left foot and scored a well
deserved hat-trick. Meanwhile, a solid display by Kyle Flecher in
defence kept Oakworth at bay. It was a great result and a tremendous
effort by all the boys. Well Done!
