Match report

Westwood Dolphins 6 - 2 Leeds City B
Sunday 19th October 2008

The Dolphins were aware that Leeds had won most of their games this season and were prepared for the battle ahead. But within minutes of the kick-off, the Dolphins found themselves 1-0 down from an own goal. This did not faze the boys and in the eighth minute James Larvin passed the ball to Ryan Abbasi who calmly slotted past the keeper to level the game. Leeds battled on and scored to take the lead again. The Dolphins rallied and, just before half time, Ryan's hard work paid off with his second of the game to make it 2-2.

In the second half the Dolphins dominated the game from the kick off with James Larvin putting them into a deserved lead. Ryan took a quick throw in and James smashed the ball from 18yds out and saw his shot loop over the keeper to make it 4-2. Sam Hastings had moved from defence to midfield and scored his first goal of the season, a great individual effort. Luke Stoyles came on with five minutes to go and pounced on a loose ball to make the score 6-2. A great result with all the boys giving 100 per cent, today's man of the match was James Larvin who got two goals and has scored in every match so far this season..
