Match report
Westwood 10 - 0 Skipton LMS
Sunday 15th November 2009
Another
solid performance saw the boys dominate the game from start to finish
only allowing Skipton a couple of chances. And without the woodwork and
some very good saves from the Skipton goalkeeper, the boys could have
had a few more.
The first three goals all went to in form
midfielder Max Maguire with a hat-trick in the first fifteen minutes:
two well taken shots and a close range finish. Next on the scoresheet
was Lucas Keenen with a thunderbolt free kick into the top corner. Then
Kian King nipped in to make it 5-0 at half time with a good run and
finish.
The second half carried on in the same vein apart from a
couple of break-away runs from Skipton that were dealt with by Jake
Speed who did everything apart from score with a great performance,
along with Tyler Ratnick and Jordan Harrison who won the ball back with
strong tackling throughout the game. The sixth goal went to Jacob
Macintosh with his trusted left foot finding the bottom corner, then
Max Maguire went one better than last week to notch his fourth goal of
the game after going past two defenders and finishing with confidence.
Centre
back Daniel Francis then pushed up for the eighth at a
corner, scrambling it in. Then Joseph Gallagher got his first of
the season after a shot from Ethan Allen was spilled by the keeper,
with Joseph side-footing after a good turn into the net. The last goal
went to Josh Allen after a good tackle in midfield by Luke Drake set
him free to finish the scoring with a good shot past the keeper. The
coaches named Ethan Allen the man of the match today for his great runs
down the wings.
