Match report
Westwood 6 - 0 Horton Foxes
Sunday 4th October 2009
The
Under 8s continued their great form with a fine display in their new
kit sponsored by 'Born in Bradford'. After a even first ten minutes,
Imahl Williamson broke the deadlock with a good dribble and left foot
shot into the bottom corner for his first goal of the season. Shortly
afterwards, Luke Drake on his debut scored from close range. Horton
Foxes to their credit didn't give up and contributed well to the game
but, just before the interval, Westwood scored two quick goals. The
first was for Lucas Keenen with another smart finish then Jordan
Harrison got his first of the season with a good shot to make it 4-0 at
half time.
The second half was just as competitive and it wasn't
until 10 minutes from time that Westwood got their fifth goal when Josh
Allen hit a great shot past the keeper, then Lucas Keenen got his
second with a good run across the pitch before firing into the corner.
That's eight goals so far for the season.
Once again the
defenders were outstanding with Jake Speed and Daniel Francis very
commanding, breaking up the attacks with help from Tyler Ratnik and Max
Maguire. The boys have now scored 18 goals in three games and conceded
none which is a great team effort, and all without a recognised
goalkeeper. Although not well, Ethan Allen played in the net first
half and Luke Drake went in for the second. The coaches named
Daniel Francis the man of the match for his solid defending throughout
the game.
