Match report

Guiseley 0 - 4 Westwood
Sunday 27th September 2009

A great away day for the Westwood under 8s who were well in control of the match. The game started evenly for the first five minutes before Jacob McCintosh unleashed a great free kick left footed into the bottom corner. Joseph Gallagher, who played in goal in the first half, dealt with the Guiseley attackers when they managed to get away from the man of the match Jake Speed and the efficient Daniel Francis. Then goal machine Lucas Keenan got Westwood's second with a close finish five minutes before half time.

Imahl Williamson took Joseph Gallagher's place in goal for the second half and he was called upon immidiately after bad marking at a corner allowed Guiseley to get a great shot in that he managed to push into the air when it looked like it was going straight into the top corner. After that scare the midfielders Jordan Harrison, Max McGuire and Tyler Ratnik took hold of the game and it was no surprise when Ethan Allen added another goal with a good strike after good team play. Towards the end of the game the referee gave Westwood a penalty and, with regular penalty taker Jordan Harrison off the field, Lucas Keenen  stepped up and made no mistake to score Westwood's fourth and his sixth goal in two games. The coaches named Jake Speed as the man of the match this week for his great reading of the game and top quality interceptions.
