Match report
Silsden 1 - 9 Westwood
Sunday 11th October 2009
An
excellent away performance with all the players working very hard, some
excellent passing and a great effort to win this weeks game after last
weeks defeat.
Jacob Slater ran the show for the first 15
minutes, scoring twice after running his heart out for the team. The
home side pulled a goal back but this just made the boys change up a
gear. Next on the score sheet for Westwood was Jake Larvin who
had a wonderful game with his lovely footwork taking on everyone that
stood in his way. At the break it was 4-1, with Liam Wilkinson
netting beforethe whistle.
The second half started at the same
pace. The home team never really threatened the goal with Josh Carr,
Joseph O’Grady, Adam Clay and man of the match Johnnie Henry stopping
everything that was throw at them. The game finished 1-9 with further
goals coming from Jacob (hat-trick) Liam (four) and Jake (two). It was
also a great debut for Katie Parr who did herself proud playing both in
goal and outfield.
