Thackley A 3 - 7 Westwood Jets

Westwood were straight into action. A pinpoint cross from Joe Stephenson was gratefully received by Roy Kimachia who calmly slotted the ball home to open the scoring within the first five minutes. Thackley equalised but Westwood dominated the remainder of the first half with fine goals from Chris Malloy and Joe.

The half-time talk from the Thackley manager certainly got the team motivated. A well placed pass split the Westwood defence and Thackley were back in the game at 3-2. From there on in Westwood took control of the game with numerous chances cleared off the line or hitting the cross bar. Two well taken goals from Jahro Parchment made the score 5-2. Thackley replied with one more goal before the game was finally put out of their reach by wing wizard Joe who had caused Thackley problems throughout the game with his trickery and lightning pace. After an own goal the game ended - a great afternoons entertainment with some great football from both teams.

Well done to the Westwood lads who were only caught offside once in the entire game. A fantastic achievement in itself! Contrary to whatthe coaches may think the boys obviously do listen occasionally!!.
